KeyKegs are revolutionising the concept of wine-on-tap. Brisbane-based wine merchants, NextGen Liquor Marketing, are shaking up southern Queensland’s hospitality sector with sustainable wine solution KeyKegs. Queensland’s inaugural refillable wine dispensary offering is spearheaded by Master of Wine Peter Scudamore-Smith, a longstanding advocate for sustainability in the wine industry.
NextGen proudly supplies KeyKegs to a growing number of Brisbane and Gold Coast restaurants and bars and is actively working to expand the sustainability of south-east Queensland venues, while promoting retail takeaway wine in environmentally friendly packaging. NextGen has supply relationships with many Queensland-based wineries, staying local, and is able to provide bespoke and targeted wine supplies.
Sustainability on tap
KeyKegs offer a sustainable, value-driven option for wine-on-tap , aligning with NextGen’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The KeyKegs are made from PET which is eminently more recyclable than glass. NextGen Liquor Marketing offer a turn-key system, including portable, bench-top wine-on-tap dispensing of quality Australian artisan wines.
Preserving wine with KeyKegs
KeyKegs maintain wine by creating an airtight barrier. Using patented Bag-in-Keg Technology, KeyKegs prevent contamination, oxidation, and degradation without the need for inert gases, ensuring a consistent ‘wine by the glass’ experience for the life of the keg, unlike traditional glass which often fails after opening.
KeyKegs: a fresh and sustainable choice
- Beyond freshness, KeyKegs champion sustainability, significantly reducing waste and storage requirements.
- A single 20-litre KeyKeg equals 27 bottles of wine, slashing glass and cardboard waste by 16 kg and 6 kg respectively, while minimising storage space by 50%.
- Designed with circularity rather than recyclability in mind, KeyKegs are 86% recyclable, with 53% of each keg composed of circular material.
Venues benefit from efficiency and an expanded wine selection
Every 20-litre KeyKeg has the capacity of 133 glasses of wine per 20-litre. Participating venues benefit from enhanced efficiency and an expanded wine selection, free from spoilage or waste. The hassle-free maintenance and storage of KeyKegs further streamline operations, saving time, water, and energy.
